Mystery...

First, I had a gnat (aka fruit fly) invasion 3 weeks ago. Finally, after many bottles of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice that problem is gone.

Today....

I used my downstairs bathroom, only to count at least a dozen full size flies buzzing around. In ONE bathroom. I didn't notice a fly problem in the rest of the house, but they are apparantly multiplying and replenishing in the downstairs bathroom.

I'm completely baffled.... any ideas?

Any suggestions on how to get rid of them all quickly and efficiently?
I'm thinking "bug bomb"..... Home Depot here I come!

Uncle Stan says that when they would remove a DBF (where the flies have collected in the windows and such)they would just open the windows and doors and the flies would leave. This, of course, was after the body had been removed.
This is probably not what is attracting your fly population. Ha Ha!
But...any chance there is something in that area that they are attracted to? What makes them want to circle around in our garages. I'm always baffled by that.
Really, the bug bomb sounds like the best idea.

who knows flies are just obnoxious! fly traps work well, but your bathroom will look like a trailer park bathroom. Good Luck:)

Update: found the source of the flies in the bedding of the guinea pig cage (just outside the bathroom door.) It was beyond GROSS... I've swatted at least 2 dozen flies down today already and there's still a few buzzing around.

Glad you solved this before we got there as we use the bathroom. Good job!

We had a fly problem in our downstairs bathroom a few months ago and the bug bomb worked like a charm!
