I'm bogged down with a nasty headcold and I just want to go back to bed, but here's the deal... everytime I lay down, I start coughing uncontrollably. When I sit in most positions, I cough a lot too. My head feels like it's going to explode from the sinus pressure and I've already wiped out one whole kleenex box this weekend. I'm most free from my cold symptoms when I'm standing up, but how is that helpful when I'm just so dang tired?
I went to church yesterday and sat through Sacrament meeting in total misery. I spent the second half of sac mtg trying to figure out how to delegate my repsonsibilities to someone else so I could go home. I was successful... after I watched my baby go to Sunbeams for the first time. I No longer have any "ties" to the Nursery! Can I just tell you what a weird feeling that is??? For the last 16 years, I've either served in Nursery or had a child in Nursery, or had a baby that I wish could be in Nursery.... there's always been some connection. It's strange... my baby isn't a baby anymore!
After I came home early, I took some sudafed, some advil, ate a granola bar and went to bed. Then I got up to have a snack when everybody got home from church and went back to bed once Brayden was settled in front of a Thomas video.
Last night I thought I was getting better, but sleep was elusive last night due to the continual cough and this morning I feel worse than I did yesterday. Today is Eric' first day back to work after almost 3 weeks off on Shutdown. Tomorrow the kids go back to school after almost 3 weeks at home. I really don't want them going back to school tomorrow before they help me clean the house. So, I might bribe them... if they clean the house we'll do something fun this afternoon. I want to take them to see Bedtime Stories, but I don't know if I can sit through a whole movie without coughing up a lung. I also have a coupon for free bowling, so we might do that too... Bowling Alleys are loud and no one will notice my hacking there, I hope. But the movie seems so much more relaxing.... I'm hoping that once I've been up for a while, my chest will clear out a bit and things will settle down.
I haven't been this sick in about a year... I guess after taking care of sick kids for the last month with chicken pox and pink eye, it's my turn.... sigh...

It's not just you, Matt and I have the same cold it's the worst. We feel your pain. Feel better.
Mommie getting sick is so unfair! someone at church just told me this old wives tale, but she swears by it?
put some vicks vapor rub on the soles of your feet, it's suppoe to stop the cough?
so I haven't tried it yet, but a lot of the detox things I read about talk about the soles of the feet, so let me know if you try adn it and what it does for you.
I agree with Stacey - it's just not fair when Mom gets sick!
And the Vicks on the feet does seem to help... don't know why, but I will rub some on my feet (really rub it in) and then put a pair of socks on. It doesn't get rid of the cough but it does seem to help...
Have you ever used Zicam? It's great stuff that shortens the length of your cold...
Hope you're better soon!!
You poor thing!!! This nasty cough bug is going all across the country. I've been in Ohio with sick people and in California with sick people, including Uncle Stan and I. Sorry you're so down. Here's hoping for a quick recovery.
P.S. Uncle Stan came down with pink eye in his other eye yesterday.
What can I say...good times, huh?
It is so miserable with mom sick. I wish we were closer so we could come and help out.
Hope you get better soon!
Oh bummer!! Why does sickness have to come at the worst time? You had three whole weeks where Eric could have helped you more and right when he goes back to work you get sick that just isn't fair. Also being a mom and being sick adds an entire new twist to the situation, you can't just be sick and rest you have to work during your misery there is no escaping it. Hope you get well soon!
Ugh! Sounds like you've been through the wringer! Hope you get better soon!
